As the City of Santa Clarita geared up to host its 23rd Annual Marathon, there was a pressing need to refresh the branding in order to generate excitement and attract participants from Southern California and beyond. The previous nine years had seen the same unchanging design utilized for all advertising and medal designs. My task was to modernize the overall look, drawing inspiration from local landmarks such as the Iron Horse Bridge and Six Flags Magic Mountain. This updated design was carried across all finisher shirts and overall branding, resulting in a more engaging and dynamic visual identity for the event.
